Going somewhere

This week’s photography assignment was to create a narrative in 20 images. Lisa showed us some artists’ series that made heavy use of symbolism as examples. Oh the pressure! I mean, sure, I create narratives with photos all the time on the blog, but I use a lot of text to get the job done.  And [...]

Ghosts in the machines

So—I will not bore you with the full story of how I shot in RAW for the first time this week, and could not open the NEF files using CS3, nor how I was able to download an update that displayed NEF thumbnails in Windows, but despaired of updating Photoshop for free.  Nor will I dwell [...]

I fell asleep in front of the tv so early last night that I missed the thundersnow.  (Darn!) As a consequence, I woke [...]

Fierce

When I left the Library at 5:55 pm to catch the 6 pm shuttle home, the wind wasn’t strong enough to blow me around bodily, but the swirling snow was so thick that I had to hold my scarf in front of my eyes, until I figured out which way the wind was blowing and [...]
